The Tourandokht foundation seeks to take effective steps toward the development of this part of society by drawing upon the scientific and cultural capital of all segments of the community, both women and men, as well as its own educational, research, cultural, and artistic resources, together with those of institutions and individuals—both public and private—who are willing to contribute to the advancement of the scientific and cultural level of women.
From Education to Expression: Women Leading the Way
The Turandokht Foundation has never adopted, nor will it ever adopt, a gender-based or biological perspective on art. Rather, the purpose of establishing such an event is to honor and value an art that is regarded as being shaped by the emotional, intellectual, and psychological dimensions of women—as a symbol of beauty and feeling intertwined with thought.
Through initiatives such as the Turandokht International Festival of Visual Arts, Film, and Music, as well as research forums, artistic workshops, and exhibitions, the Foundation seeks to create meaningful opportunities for women to present their talents, enhance their professional capabilities, and contribute to the enrichment of society’s cultural and scientific life.
Promoting Women in Science: We support research initiatives, academic forums, and collaborative projects that highlight and advance the role of women scientists in shaping the future of knowledge. By fostering opportunities for dialogue and innovation, we aim to strengthen women’s presence in scientific communities locally and globally.
The Turandokht Festival provides an occasion to showcase those ‘moments’ in which art is created—moments that arise from the full range of the artist’s emotional and psychological elements.”
